A view of Siracusa, on the eastern coast of Sicily,
with Mt. Etna in the distance behind.
As we approach Siracusa on the water taxi from our hotel,
we have a nice view of Castello Maniace, built 1232 -- 1240AD
Ortygia Island is a section of Siracusa where history abounds,
including remains of the Temple of Apollo from the 6th century BC.
