Arcade on front of Arcibasilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, 1732

Statue of Emperor Constantine in the portico of San Giovanni in Laterano.
The bronze doors were originally used at the
Roman Senate House, the Curia Julia, in the Roman Forum.

The basilica is believed to be the oldest church in Europe.
It was founded in the 4th century, and dedicated to
St. John the Baptist, and John the Evangelist.
