Gladiator Mosaic

The Gladiator Mosaic is dated to the early 4th century AD.
It was discovered in 1834 on a Borghese estate outside Rome.

Many of the gladiators depicted are named.
The Greek letter Theta near names stands for thanatos, meaning dead.
