My Garden by Brenda Pokorny

A picture book by Brenda Pokorny
Dedicated to Lyle Maxwell Workman

In this brief book, the reader explores nature up close, through the eyes of a young child.  Expressive pastel illustrations by Brenda Pokorny enrich the simple text.

Grandpa Workman was the one who taught me an appreciation of nature.  He watched birds and
grew flowers.  The garden behind his house seemed enormous--of course I was quite small at the
time.  Peonies, roses, hollyhocks and gladiolus.  Accompanied by bird song.  Those will always
   remind me of him.
