Growing up, I helped my grandfather plant his vegetable garden every spring.  He patiently taught me how to push one corn seed into each small hole.  He was a natural gardener.  He spent countless hours planting, weeding, watering, and anticipating the bounty.  Whether it is vegetables or flowers, gardening is patience and optimism.  I credit him with my love of gardening.
