Come Spring by Brenda Pokorny

Come Spring
I have fond childhood memories of helping my grandfathers in their gardens.  One planted  vegetables.  He patiently taught me how to push one corn seed into each small hole.  He spent countless hours planting, weeding, watering, and anticipating the bounty.  The other grew roses.  His roses were spectacular.  Sadly, I did not inherit his green thumb, but I did inherit his love for flowers.  Whether it is vegetables or flowers, gardening is patience and optimism.  I credit both of these wonderful men with my love of gardening.
