KIS Benches: #5 Integrity & Fairness

The character traits we show on this bench are Integrity and Fairness.

What better way to illustrate the concept of fairness than through games?  And for the concept of integrity, we created the superhero, Super Integrity Man, decked out in Kenston Bomber colors of course.

I chose the following quotes for these character traits:

"After the game, the king and the pawn go into the same box." --Italian proverb

"Have the courage to say no.  Have the courage to face the truth.  Do the right thing because it is right.  These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity." --W. Clement Stone

"Be as good a person as your dog already thinks you are." --anonymous

I introduced the children to the graphic animal artwork of Charley Harper, as well as Paul Klee's Zitronen and Flora di Roccia for style inspiration.  I also incorporated a red, white and "Bomber" blue quilt-style  element in the design of the bench front.  And, I found a few antique skeleton keys that we embedded in the mosaic -- playing on the keys theme from the quote.
